had a belated christmas gathering cum gift exchange on friday evening with my FAVORITE people from NUS - cheryl, alvin, jian xing and jolyn. too bad felicia couldnt join us, miss the girl badly. i know its kinda late to celebrate christmas when new year has already ended too, but well we reckon it shld be still well within the 12 days of christmas. hw aha ah aha. and wat matter most has got to be the company. these bunch of people made my life in uni super wonderful and will certainly be one of my bestest memories.

getting all of us to meet was the difficult part cos we are all so busy. ok with the exception of me and poon la. we seem to be nua-ing the whole hoilday away. so we are made the official planners of this gathering: tonnes of sms-ing, settling a date, location and drawing lots for the gift exchange. but well the effort was worth it cos we really had a great great time albiet it being only for a few hours. :)

the evening got of to a pretty rocky start with most of us being late...and ali FORGETTING TO BRING CHERYL'S PRESENT. wh aha aha ha ah. but he rushed home on his little scooter to get it in the end la (ok, after cheryl like practically forced him to... aha aha ha aha ha aha).

dinner was at sunset grill and bar. our second time there. some very very ulu place at the old seletar airport. had to cab in. the poor taxi uncle was shaking his head as our taxi meandered along the long and dark route to the restaurant. food there is really good, though if u are ultra sensitive to mosquito bites ( like me) u gotta bring loads of insect repellent, medicated oil and watever. fantastic ambience too. alot of couples around us but i guess they must be really suay to have us in the midst of them generating so much noise to spoil the romantic mood. wh aha aha ha. rong shu xia anyone? (insider joke)

we ordered loads of things and shared it among ourselves: fried calamari, deep fried button mushrooms (my fav!), grilled fish, fish and chips, pork chops, mini beef burgers, and the dozen of ultra spicy chicken wings that the place is famous for. as predicted, me and jo downed glasses of water cos of our low tolerance to spicy food. the other 3 very brave ones tackled the wings like no body's business. ding dong pple. anyway, we were too busy enjoying the food and talking nonsense that we forgot to take pics of the food...again! ha ha aha ah.

and then its time for gift exchange! the routine works this way. siling to jianxing. jian xing to jolyn. jolyn to alvin. alvin to cheryl. and last but not least, cheryl to siling. it was like a mini prize giving ceremony with tonnes of pictures taking. most of the pics are in my facebook. uploading a huge amount of pictures in blogger in kinda troublesome compared to facebook. ha. lazy to upload the same pics twice la. we were all very happy with our presents.
poon got me a new cushion cos she says the old one i always bring to library during exam study periods is gettin old and dirty. so thoughtful of the girl. :)
and she also hand made these ANGEL handphone charms with crystals for all of us. and thus we also have to pose with it too. wha ah aha ah. she says the angel will remind us of her. it's now hanging prettily on my mp3 player now.

and more group pics! in the second pic, ali as usual has to act cool even though we said it has to be an informal pic. ha, and i have no idea why poon was acting fierce in the third pic. so cute la! very out of context, but i really love this bunch of pple. its amazing how well we click even though we havent really known each other for a very long time. the laughter are always non stop, and conversations meaningful. :)

alvin's pretty little scooter provides endless opportunities for us.

and we dun ever run out of things to snap. as soon as we got tired of our faces, we turn to taking pics of shadows! ha ha ha. the following pics gotta be the highlight of the night. totally nonsensical and loads of confusion to get the pics right.

after a few more pics, the taxi finally arrived. super tired but i enjoyed myself a lot. :) if things go right, the next gathering shld be next thurs before sch starts. ewwww, why do time always fly just when u are having fun?
