HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
looking back at 2008, i would say that it was one of the best years i ever had... milestones pickuped, big and small ---some of them what i never thought was possible when i was young.
- after studying for 16++ yrs, i finally graduated frm uni with a course that i really learnt and enjoyed. i guess its in everyone dream somewhere to wear that motar board and get the scroll. and along the way in this long journey, one of my greatest rewards (besides being empowered with an education) is to have met many wonderful/not so wonderful friends along the way. and of course the special few who became my closest and favouritest people. :)
- moving on to a next phase of life, becoming a working adult. with added responsibilities and possibly a little more maturity? ha. i didnt graduate exactly at one of the better moments in the economy but nonetheless still blessed that i now hold a stable job in a great environment, with friendly people and opportunities to develop myself as a person.
- coming to terms with many things (translates to being less emo...ha ah aha) and understanding myself better. trying to be a better person.moving out of a certain comfort zone and venturing into something unknown were probably the hardest. i have never been much of a risk taker, neither do i like changes. bt now i think it was one of the better decisions i made in life. letting go was never easy but holding on would have been even harder.
and so this yr, as usual i am nt making any resolutions. they are never fulfilled anyway and sorta restricts things u want to do. life is too short to be bounded by these nonsense. bt still in 2009 i hope to: continue learning french, save/earn more, be nicer to those i care about, ok and if possible lose some weight. (ash, go ahead... i esp added this last one for u one. ah aha aha ) it doesnt matter if they dun come true also la. most imptly i just have one simple wish, to be a happy person throughout the yr.
and so anyways, as we say goodbye to 2008... i spent the very last day with my one and only CHERYL POON!!!! ha ha. so romantic heh? after half day at work, we went swimming (ok maybe it was more like soaking water...) at delta, followed by shopping and meeting cheng hong for dinner and movie. we watched AUSTRALIA, which i thought wasnt that bad except the fact that it was a little draggy. and it had too many cows and hairy men running around in the show. so while poon was drooling at hugh jackman, cheng hong wondering why he agreed to come with these 2 siao char bors to watch movie, i was trapped in the middle freezing and sleepy. ha ha aha.
when we came out of the marina square gv cinema, it was alr 11 plus. the show was a bloody 3 hrs long! ass pain. ha. the place was so freaking crowded man. mostly sec sch kids. i brought the 2 of them to meet my colleagues/ lunch buddies who were in the area. the initial plan was just to say hi and run off to avoid the train crowd after midnight. but somehow, the 6 of us (me, poon, cheng hong, sabbie, sing pou and li min) went down to the bridge at kallang and caught the fireworks frm there. despite everyone nt knowing everyone before that, we still got along pretty well and had loads of fun. it was great welcoming the new yr with these pple. esp my dearest poon and cheng hong. awwwwwwwwwww. pics!
