for those who know me well, will know that i cant cook, don't cook and and hate to cook. the closest i have remotely come to satisfy my hunger is to make instant noodles. even then, i would prefer the pour-hot-water version anytime. and just dun get me started on the last time i attempted to boil an egg. everytime my mum starts preparing dinner, i will think of some lame excuse to get busy, just to avoid helping her with the cooking. ok, to redeem myself, i do help my mum go to market every morning to get the groceries.
the thing is, i dun believe in spending more time on food then actually eating it. the idea of chopping up a pink slimy chicken totally grosses me out. i still remember the last time we were MADE to cook curry chicken for sociology of food class, the chicken was badly mutiliated by me. talk about dying a horrible death heh? once u compare food which is unprepared and what is presented on the table, u will get wat i mean. no point spoiling ur appetite thinking of how it looks like before right? the irony of it all, i actually enjoy watching cooking shows. somehow, everything gets beautified on tv it gets watchable.
when pple find out my dislike for cooking, i usually get the "but a woman should learn how to cook!" prep talk. *prompts roll eyes here* all i can say is... bullsh*t. wh aha ha aha. wat century u living in le?! please la.....i no longer believe in all the crap about division of labour. whichever idiot who says women must stay at home to cook must be living in some ancient decades ago. either that or he/she must be damn sexists for his/her own good.cooking to me is not a sin. to me it's really more of a blessing. its just that i get really pissed off when people start preaching to me why i should learn to cook. i dont condemn pple who cook (and i have good friends who can cook really well), so i guess i shldnt be condemned for not being able to cook heh? tmd. my mum always like to tell me how a way to a man's heart is through the stomach ( in one of her many attempts to try to get me to learn how to cook...). sorry to say that mum, but please la, now so many hawker centres out there, if i marry someone just to cook for that person then i rather remain single forever. wha aha ah. lets just say i hate the idea of being domesticated.

.
to that, chen hong gave me the perfect solution. the both of us once talked about it before and the clever boy told me to marry a chef. or someone who is willing to cook for me. w ha aha aha. such a genius heh?
.
having said all that, its not as if i am really not going to cook forever. perhaps one day my mindset will change, or perhaps i am just waiting for someone to change me. till that day, i guess i will just have to stick to my cup noodles for now. :)
