went to the career workshop organised by the my faculty yesterday night. pretty stressful event with all the top notch industry pple shooting questions at you, making u freak at all the pretty personal questions. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN TEN YRS? WHAT ARE UR LONG TERM GOALS? how am i supposed to know? wth...i am not some fortune teller...hmm. but the stuff they teach u there, though pretty cliche and common sense, are in some sense quite useful. and all the insider tips, but i doubt if i can really remember all of them when i actually go for the interview. shit. i dun want to work! getting a job is so nonsensical. cant they just give me the job !?%@# why do they have to make me go through all the writing resume, cv, interview, and then they reject me. how? arrgggh. life is really full of complications. sometimes i wish life was simpler. a close friend once told me i am no longer as innocent as when she first used to know me. it was probably a fleeting comment at that time but it stuck with me. cos i knew it to be true. as i grow older, as things around me change, as pple come and go...so much has happened in the past few years. i get hit badly and i am still trying to recover, but old scars stay. nothin is ever a constant anymore. and hence i guess i sorta jaded le. i choose not to believe fully, looking at life with a little skeptism all the time. Cynicism permeates me. it's hard to be the old me anymore. sometimes i wish i was a kid again. you know, i think i am pretty contradictory. when i was young i wanted to grow up fast. but now that i am older, i want to be young again. i guess pple can never be satisfied. when u have something, u always want something more. and when u look back, u want things to be the way they were before. the irony of such an imperfect world. shit, i am digressing again. where were we...ya, the career talk... i just wish they grant me the intern soon. i dun want to be a bummer during the hols. and then one of the speakers said somethin which i thought was pretty true --- its ok to start small. its all the little lessons in life that u pick up along the way which is going to stick with you for the rest of your life. dun expect to be in some exec position in the corporate ladder when u first enter. every body gotta learn along the way. if u have wat it takes, u will make it one day. i guess its akin to a baby learning how to walk. need to learn to crawl, and fall before u finally make it. Hmmm, so inspired. well, hope things will work out for me.
